About Us:
18th century house museum with garden designed in 1926 by English garden writer & designer Gertrude Jekyll. SIte of the election of Samuel Seabury first American Episcopal Biship in 1783.

Services Offered:
Guided Tours, gift shop, self guided tours of garden and grounds. Educational programs for all ages provided at various times during year.

Description Of Area:
Woodbury is the antiques capitol of Connecticut with many fine 18th century homes, shopping, and great natural beauty.

Description Of Property:
Located in Woodbury's oldest neighborhood just off the Main Street, The Glebe House is a circa 1760 garmbrel-roofed Colonial home of simple elegance and refinement. It is furnished to reflect the lives of John & Sarah Marshall who lived here from 1771 - 1786 as Woodbury's first Episcopal priest. The Jekyll garden surrounding the house is the only extant Jekyll-designed garden in North America.

Description Of Tour:
Guided tour of house presents life in the 18th century, the history of Woodbury, and the history of the Episcopal Church during the Revolutionary War.

Description Of Event:
May Plant Sale; September Colonial Fair & Muster Day; October "All Hollow's Eve" Halloween event; December Christmas Festival.

Age Range And Group Type:
Tours are individually tailored to meet the needs and interest levels of visitors of all ages.

Picnics allowed on grounds

Rates And Availability:
2.00 CHILDREN, 5.00 adults; 2.00 donation for self-guided tour of garden; 6.00 for group tours, includes guided tour of house and garden.
