Description Of Area:
Shandon is a lochside area 4 miles north of Helensburgh, 25 miles north west of Glasgow, half a mile from the Clyde Submarine Base, so as well as sailing boats you might see a submarine gliding by. The village of Rhu is one mile away and has a shop, award-winning pub, hotel and yacht club. Helensburgh has supermarkets, a wealth of individual shops, promenade, putting, golf, park, indoor swimming pool and fitness centre, restaurants, coffee shops, tennis, a pier (the paddle steamer Waverley calls here), and Charles Rennie Mackintosh's masterpiece The Hill House.

Description Of Property:
Two-storey apartment adjoining attractive lochside house, in large garden, with excellent views:
A private entrance hall leads to a large open-plan kitchen/living-room with loch views. The fully-equipped kitchen includes oven, hob, extractor, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, microwave and washer/dryer. The living area has a maple dining table and chairs, double sofa bed, easy-chairs, and a feature-fireplace. There are two TVs, DVD, radio/CD-player, books, toys, plus tourist information.
Upstairs, the double-bedded room, furnished with an antique suite, has panoramic Gareloch views. The adjoining bathroom has an over-bath shower.
Cot and single futon are available. We provide bedlinen, towels and electricity.
The apartment is gas centrally heated. Outside there’s a patio, garden furniture and off-road parking.
No smoking, but we welcome well-behaved dogs (with own beds).
Garemount Lodge is an ideal base for exploring this beautiful area of Scotland. We’re on the Clyde Sea Lochs Trail, adjoining the Loch Lomond National Park, within an hour of Glasgow, Stirling, the Trossachs, and Inveraray. Shandon Country Pursuits (clay-shooting, quad-biking, archery, fishing) is nearby, as is the Clyde Submarine Base. Helensburgh has two railway stations, interesting independent shops, Rennie Mackintosh’s masterpiece The Hill House, restaurants, golf, sailing, tennis, bowling, putting, and swimming.

Sleeping And Meals:
The double-bedded room has antique furniture, a lovely view over the Gareloch, TV, hairdryer, radio/alarm-clock. A large cot or futon is available.

Facilities Provided:
Outside there's a small patio with table and chairs, plus off-road parking.

The open-plan kitchen/living room has a fully-equipped kitchen with oven, hob, extractor, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, toaster, kettle, toasted sandwich maker, washer/dryer, and in the living room area are TV, DVD, CD/radio, double sofabed, feature fireplace, information pamphlets about this area, books and some children's toys.

From £200 to £380 per week according to season. 3 night weekend and 4 night midweek breaks available from £120-£180.

How To Find Us:
Travelling north from Helensburgh on the A814 towards Garelochead, pass through the village of Rhu. Travel a further one and a half miles and take the Ardchapel turnoff in Shandon (it's the next turnoff after Queenspoint/Stuckenduff). Turn right at the turnoff and immediate left onto a small slip-road. Garemount Lodge is the 3rd entance along and the first house up the drive.
