Description Of Property:
Muktuk is located on a 100-acre ranch, bordered on three sides by the Takhini River. Cabins are nestled in the boreal forest, and the main lodge is set by the river, with the dog yard and trails at hand.

Description Of Adventure:
Rookie Ranch, our most porpular adventure, is a 6-day package for novice mushers. Participants spend the first afternoon meeting the dogs and getting an orientation to mushing in general. Our dogs are Alaskan huskies, and they are very powerful sled-dogs.

Vacation Packages Available:
We also offer 9-day and 14-day camping trips every spring. If you are interested in a longer trip, and have previous mushing experience, contact us directly for details of the trips planned for the coming season.

A Typical Day:
The day begins with a delicious hot breakfast at 8am. After breakfast, guests will help with yard chores and help get the teams ready for the day's run -- putting on harnesses and dog boots. Then you head down the trail, with your guide and fellow mushers

Age Range And Group Type:
At Muktuk, we host participants from age 10 to 80. We limit groups to 4 (but can accommodate a group of 6 or 8 by special request. Generally we host a maximum of 6 people at any one time.

Sleeping And Meals:
At Muktuk, we provide healthy, hearty, home-cooked meals. We can accommodate special diets, including vegetarian, vegan and diabetic meals. Accommodations are in cozy cabins on the ranch, with double and single beds available.

Internet access. Sauna. Camping gear and snowshoes.

Rates And Availability:
Day trips range from $110 to $250 per person. 6-day packages range from $2500 to $3200, with camping trips ranging from $2800 to $6000.
