Owner Laurie Niedermayer has over 15 years experience in dogsledding - competing & placing internationally in sprint racing, training and mushing for films - Snow Dogs, Kevin of the North, Call of the Wild, and has been sharing her passion for the sport with guests since 2000.

Services Offered:
Nakitsilik offers a variety of dog sled adventures, including day, weekend, multi day and week-long packages. We will customize a package just for our guests specific needs - and pride ourselves on our friendly dogs & personalized service. Accommodations include a rustic cabin, or two self contained rooms in our B & B, We also offer a veriety of workshops for animal training that include our flagship basic musher training for people with their own dogs or teams.

Description Of Area:
Nakitsilik is located in the heart of 'Cariboo Country' in BC's interior - an hour south east of 100 Mile House, and two hours north of Kamloops. Our remote location is perfect for those who want to truly experience a Canadian winter adventure, without sacrificing all the comforts of home. We leave on tours right from our back yard - and have access to hundreds of miles of wonderful trails.

Description Of Property:
Nakitsilik is located on 160 acres and is surrounded by crown land. Nestled on a mountainside with a view over Eagan Lake and the entire valley - we are surrounded by pristine forests and abundant wildlife.

Description Of Room / Suite:
Two comfy B&B rooms are available - and include their own private entrances, bathrooms and access to our outdoor hot tub. Our rustic cabin is cozy and just right for those who want to 'rough it', a guys weekend, or people with their own dogs - includes electriricty, wood for the heater, bottled water, a propane camp stove and outhouse. All meals are included with all our tour packages.

Description Of Adventure:
All our tours include a half hour personal sled handling instruction and introduction to your own team. Learn to harness and hook up your own team and then we are off - covering flat trails, hills, lakes, creeks and breaking for pictures, snacks or meals on the trail. Step back in time with our friendly purebred Siberian Huskies as you experience this anicent form of transportation - much the same as their ancestors did hundreds of years ago.

Our tours don't stop with the winter - we offer full - four season accommodations and access to some of the best fishing lakes in the province. horseback riding, hiking, soft adevnture, extreme athletes, hunters and more are all welcome to join us for the Nakitsilik experience. We offer specialty workshops, seminars and team building adventures.

Vacation Packages Available:
Single day tours, weekends, multiple day and week long adventures, B&B available year round. All our tours include meals and accommodations.

A Typical Day:
Starting at 7 am - we enjoy a hearty breakfast, then head out to harness our teams and head out. Once on the trail with our guides - you will experience some of the most amazing scenery. Our full day tours include lunch on the trail and upon return to the lodge, relax in our hot tub, hang with the dogs, cuddle a puppy or watch a video of your day. Home cooked meals and warm country hospitality round out a full day of adventure.

Age Range And Group Type:
Nakitsilik tours are strenous and hands on. - our tours are not suitable for young children - all ages are welcome - but we prefer 16 - 70 years old.

Sleeping And Meals:
Nakitsilik provides healthy, hearty, home-cooked meals. We can accommodate special diets, allergies and meal preferences. Accommodations - B&B rooms sleep 2 - 4, our rustic cabin sleeps 2 - 4.

All pricing in Canadian dollars: Winter tours - Full day tours start $250pp Weekends $550pp/$850 per couple; Multi day $800.00/3 days pp; Week long: $1,850/7 days pp. Available December 20th - March 30th. Call for our spring, summer and fall tours and information.
